Porto Never Looked This Good

It all started when a few friends came to visit Porto and, as often happens in this city, a simple visit turned into long lunches, good conversations and the desire to show them everything.

There was only one problem: how do you properly show Porto to someone you care about? The answer was waiting outside — our Volkswagen Beetle.

Windows down, everyone squeezed in, no Google Maps, no reviews and certainly no online bookings. Just a little car driving through the streets of Porto. They crossed the historic centre, followed the Douro towards the Atlantic, stopped whenever the view deserved it, and discovered the city the way locals do: slowly.

That first drive was never supposed to become anything. But then another friend visited. And another. And the Beetle went out again. Over the years, showing Porto from this little Volkswagen became something of a family tradition.

The city changed. The streets changed. Our family grew. And the Beetle stayed.

For three generations, it has been part of our family memories: summer drives, celebrations, photographs, stories and countless kilometres around Porto.

More than half a century after those first friends came to visit, we decided to continue the tradition. Only now, you are the friend visiting Porto.

There is still no rush. We still prefer the scenic road. We still stop when the view deserves a photograph. And we still believe the best way to discover Porto isn't necessarily from the window of a tour bus.

Sometimes, all you need is an old Volkswagen, the roof open, and someone who loves this city showing you the way.
